Good Saturday evening my dear readers!
I hope that you're doing well and have bared through
shopping for Christmas presents craze!
I don't know about your city, but in Helsinki, there're
rivers of people at shopping malls, random little stores,
cafes, restaurants, streets and everybody has tons of bags
in their hands. Christmas time is so exciting and can you believe
that Christmas is in only 12 days!?!?
I've been creative at kitchen today and since I usually like to make
everything from scratch when I cook, I've decided to share one of
my absolute favourite and healthy dips/ spreads and it's hummus!
It's so easy to prepare and you can alter it as you wish, but I'm giving
you the recipe for the most "classic" hummus.
You'll need:
*600 grams/ 2,5 cups of chickpeas
( if you use canned ones, make sure to rinse
them with water )
*1 tablespoon of olive oil
*1 tablespoon of tahini
*teaspoon of cumin
*salt
*juice of 1 lemon
*1 garlic clove ( minced )
Add chickpeas and lemon juice to the blender/ food processor and
mash everything evenly. Then add the rest of the ingredients, stir
everything well with the spoon and add a little bit of water to reach
the more smoother consistency.
That's it! SO easy, ready before you know it and so healthy.
If you want to make it more "exciting" add some powder bell pepper
or mash some sundried tomatoes and mix it together with the hummus.
Options are practically endless.
I've served hummus with the side of roasted sweet potatoes, self-made
guacamole and quickly fried halloumi cheese bites.
